This page explains what happens to the information you leave with the studio, whether you write from the contact form or hand me a model release on set.
01
Who is responsible
Nora Steinmann, [street and number], [postcode] Zürich, Switzerland. Questions about anything on this page go to [hello@steinmann.studio]. There is no separate data protection officer; the studio is small enough that I answer these myself.
02
What this notice covers
Everything collected through this website and through the work that follows from it: enquiries, commissions, shoot logistics and the photographs themselves. It does not cover sites I link out to.
03
What you give me
The contact form asks for a name, an email address and a message, and gives you room to describe the shoot. If a commission follows, that grows to include a billing address, scheduling details and whatever the production needs. I ask for nothing I do not use.
04
What is collected without you typing it
The site records page views through [analytics provider] so I can see which work people actually look at. It sets no advertising cookies and builds no profile. The host, [Framer], keeps standard server logs.
05
Why I am allowed to process it
Three grounds: to answer you and to perform a contract we have agreed; to meet Swiss bookkeeping and tax obligations; and, for analytics, a legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used. Where consent is the ground, you may withdraw it at any time.
06
How long it is kept
Enquiries that lead nowhere are deleted after [24 months]. Contracts, invoices and anything touching them are kept [10 years], which Swiss bookkeeping law requires. Raw files from a commission stay in the archive unless you ask otherwise.
07
Who else sees it
The host, the mail provider and the analytics provider, each only as far as their service needs. Assistants, retouchers and labs see what a given production requires. Some of these sit outside Switzerland and the EEA; where they do, transfers rest on standard contractual clauses.
08
Photographs of identifiable people
A photograph of a recognisable person is personal data as well as a picture. For commissioned work I collect a release before publication, and I keep it with the commission file. If you appear in an image on this site and want it taken down, write to me and it comes down while we talk about it.
09
Your rights
You may ask what I hold, have it corrected, have it deleted, object to a particular use, or ask for a copy in a portable format. Write to [hello@steinmann.studio] and I will answer within [30 days]. If my answer does not satisfy you, you may complain to the [Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner].

Changes
If this notice changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes are announced on this page before they take effect.
This page is a structure, not legal advice. Every value in brackets is a placeholder: replace it, delete what does not apply to you, and have a lawyer in your jurisdiction read the result before you publish.
